Council Vacancies
Chapter IV, Section 4.6

The current Arvada City Charter states:

"In case of a vacancy the remaining Councilmembers shall choose by a majority vote, and within thirty (30) days after such vacancy occurs..."

A YES vote will increase the time for filling a vacancy on the Arvada City Council from 30 days to 45 days.

• • This will provide more time for citizens to become aware of and apply for a vacancy on the Arvada City Council, as well as provide the council more time for review of qualifications, interviews, and final selection.

QUESTION NO. 2 - AMENDMENT TO THE CHARTER FOR THE CITY OF ARVADA

Shall Chapter IV, Section 4.6, “Vacancies,” of the Arvada City Charter concerning procedures for filling vacancies on City Council, be amended by increasing the number of days to fill a City Council vacancy from 30 days to 45 days?
